Country Style Primitives
Our fabric Primitive Art Dolls reference items made by American pioneer women who used scraps from clothing, quilts or even feedsacks to make something for their children to play with. Items would be created from whatever came to hand in order to adorn the home and nothing was wasted – this has developed into an art form of its own as people have realised that they add warmth and charm to the modern home.
Our seasonal categories are home to many more primitives, particularly our sizeable range of Halloween and Christmas primitives. Our modern equivalents are not toys, but rather detailed works of art created using high quality 100% cotton, rather than scraps. The result is a high quality, lasting item, which retains all the character of the founding works that have helped this art form endure the centuries.
Primitive bowl fillers make a quaint and unusual addition to any shabby chic or country interior. They can be arranged in a decorative bowl or propped up on a shelf.
Primitive Art Dolls can be propped up on a shelf, mantlepiece or anywhere else you care to place them. They smell lovely, without being overpowering. The creation of these items is a multi-stage process, and the charmingly simple appearance of the finished product belies the amount of time taken to sew, paint and finish them.
